5 Reasons to Trust God with All of Your Heart

Updated: Dec 12, 2023

God is so, so good even when our circumstances are not ideal or even really rocky. Sometimes it doesn't make any sense but we don't have to strive to understand everything. We can rest knowing that God is who He says He is which is our Provider, Protector, Shepherd, King, and good Father. God says so many times in His Word that we are to trust Him and we will in turn be blessed with much. Let's dive into some reasons why we can trust God the Father with all of our hearts.

1.We are more valuable than the birds He cares for!

Look at the birds of the air. They do not sow or reap or gather into barns; yet your Father in heaven feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Matthew 6:26 TLV

I love how Yeshua taught in parables and compared the Father's love to things we see in every day life. There are birds everywhere. I'll guess that there is at least one bird within eye shot of each of us, every single day. So when we see birds, may we be reminded that He cares so much more for us than them, and they have food given to them graciously. When we worry about food, clothing, whatever it is we are worried about, we just need to stop, drop, and pray. And give Him thanks for caring so much for us that. We can trust Him with every seemingly small detail of our lives, whether that be paying the rent next month during a strained financial time or finding a perfect dress for an occasion. <3

2.He wants us to depend on Him, not on ourselves.

Trust in Adonai with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 TLV

It should come as a relief that we are told not to lean on our own understanding but that is easier said than done. I'm guilty of it. Wanting to be in control of everything going on in my life. But our good Father is calling us to higher than that, always. Our own understanding of things is fickle and dim while God can see all. Who better than the One who fearfully and wonderfully knit us in our mother's womb, to have everything under His sovereign, watchful eye. As the scripture says, we are to acknowledge Him in all our ways and He will make our paths straight. Acknowledge Him in every major decision we make and how we live out the smaller details of our lives. Should we go out clubbing until 2am to raunchy, worldly music or should we play board games with friends and get to bed at a decent hour? For me, my path would probably be made straighter with the latter because I am acknowledging what God has prescribed as a righteous way of living. He is for us, let's trust in Him wholeheartedly as He says. <3

3.We are made stronger and we are blessed when we trust in Him.

Blessed is the one who trusts in Adonai, whose confidence is in Adonai. For he will be like a tree planted by the waters, spreading out its roots by a stream. It has no fear when heat comes, but its leaves will be green. It does not worry in a year of drought, nor depart from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8 TLV

Blessed indeed to be so trusting in the Father that even drought (finances, relationships, infertility, etc.) will not lead us into fear but rather close to Him. This trust thing, it is surrender. It is total surrender. Let us all be evergreen in our trust in Him, and be blessed for it. <3

4.Trusting Him leads us to praise Him.

Adonai is my strength and my shield. My heart trusts in Him, and I was helped. Therefore my heart leaps for joy, and I will praise Him with my song. Psalm 28:7 TLV

Because He is our strength and we don't have to be our own strength, we can trust in Him. He will help us when we trust Him! He will help us see the way He is growing us, sanctifying us, loving us. And this naturally causes us to praise Him in worship and joyful worship!

5.He will show us His goodness, in both small and big ways.

Surely I trust that I will see the goodness of Adonai in the land of the living. Wait for Adonai. Be strong, let Your heart take courage, and wait for Adonai. Psalm 27:13-14 TLV

Even if we don't see yet what it is we are trusting Him for (a child, a spouse, a job, a friend or family member accepting Yeshua as their Savior, etc.), we must declare to our hearts that we will His goodness on this side of heaven. There is often a wait and that makes things harder than if they happened quickly. But I've heard before that our God is a crockpot God, not a microwave God. He cooks up far tastier things with time, and it is no different with us. His time gives us room to prepare, to grow, to be sanctified in Him. Let us be strong and take courage! His goodness is always on the way. But it is also here right now and that is where intentional gratitude comes in. Take a moment to bask in the blessings He has already showered you with. <3

Heavenly Father,

We come before Your courts with thanksgiving and praise. Thank You that you are a good Father whom we can trust with every ounce of our lives with. Thank You for caring so deeply for us, more than we can imagine. Thank You for hearing our prayers for those things which which are waiting for and trusting You for. Father, for myself and every person reading this, I pray that Your strength, peace, and joy would fill our hearts and that we would go about each of our days with hearts filled with Your peace, because we trust in You. May all that we do honor and glorify You, and be for our good as well. We love You, and ask that You help us to know and love you all the more. <3

In Yeshua's mighty name we pray,

Amen

With love, Kari
