Into the Unknown: Leaving America for Ecuador

Updated: Nov 2, 2021

Here goes nothing: I'm starting this blog to share my journey in hopes that it will fuel inspiration, contemplation, and courage for my readers. This is also a place where I will ask questions in hopes that folks of all walks will connect and teach me a thing or two. :)

I'm trading in pursuit of the 'American Dream' for the pursuit of a simple life rooted in faith and stewardship of the earth through farming. Though I could absolutely pursue this lifestyle here in beautiful Colorado (in the photo is one of Colorado's many glorious Rocky Mountains, Mt. of the Holy Cross), I am feeling the urge to break free from the comfort zone into a new country. Drum roll............................................................

Ecuador!

I will be working and living on a permaculture farm called Parque Bambu. My goal in going to Parque Bambu is to learn, work, and be better prepared to hopefully co-create a faith-based permaculture farm community. That's the dream. :)

I'll be 30 years old this coming June. I don't have a husband or any prospects. No kids. No house (don't worry I haven't been homeless!). I have a rather unique freedom to take off into the unknown at my age. This is not to downgrade those who are settled - I think it's wonderful. :) We all just have our unique journeys right?

My journey is a journey of growing faith and trust in my Savior Jesus and pursuing the desire of my heart to live close to nature and to steward it well.

I'm excited to document and share my journey with you all. Thank you for being here with me!
